BBOWT (Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust)
Our local wildlife trust, which, among other activities: protects and campaigns for wildlife across the three counties; looks after 80 nature reserves and provides wildlife advice. Piddington has an important reserve on our own doorstep: the Upper River Ray Floodplain Living Landscape. The Upper River Ray area is one of the last remaining traditional floodplain meadows in England and a stronghold for wading birds. The first curlew usually return to the Upper Ray Meadows in late February, and by early spring lapwing and curlew can be seen displaying across the reserve.

Bicester Green - Centre for Skills, Sustainability & Secondhand Stuff
Set up (next to Bicester Town Railway Station) to make better use of resources by repairing items that would otherwise have been sent to landfill, the centre aims to benefit the local community through providing skills training that will help lead to employment, by teaching innovation and self reliance and advocating sustainable living. Includes a repair service of donated items for small electrical items , bicycles , furniture .

Lists of sightings in Oxfordshire appear in Oxfordshire Bird News, which is part of the countrywide Going Birding website. Free to register, the website enables users easily to record county sightings. Interesting sightings are automatically forwarded to the Oxon Bird Log, a blog where people can post sightings and photographs. It also contains a list of other birding blogs.
Oxford Ornithological Society is for all who have an interest in birds and birdwatching in Oxfordshire, and holds regular meetings and activities. It also maintains a database of bird sightings in the county and helps to co-ordinate various bird monitoring schemes within the county.

Bernwood Jubilee Way walking and cycling routes
The historic Bernwood Jubilee Trail is a 61 mile walking and cycling route which circles the former Royal Hunting Forest of Henry II, established circa 1228. The trail, which runs through 31 parishes, is a beautiful path through woods, meadows and wild flower fields, with magnificent views and rare native flora and fauna as well as butterflies, birds and wildlife.

Piddington Circular Walk
The Piddington Circular Walk is one of a series of guided trails to be established by Cherwell District Council. The route is an attractive country walk, starting at the Village Hall car park and taking in Muswell Hill, the highest viewpoint in the southern half of the district.
