Ukulele Night!
What can we say? It was a fantastic night, with the hall packed to bursting with people singing along - and even dancing - to the swinging strings of Ukolade, led by virtuoso Adrian Broadway on a rage of instruments including the Nepalese nose flute and a twisted bit of drainpipe from a recent plumbing job. The bar staff did a great job keeping the evening flowing, and thanks are due to everyone who helped organise such a brilliant event. I hear the band thoroughly enjoyed themselves too!

Halloween Pop-Up Pub, 27 October 2017
Piddington turned into The Twilight Zone at the October pop-up pub, as various spooks, witches, ghouls, zombies, vampires and monsters gathered for their ghastly revels. Poisonous potions were drunk and mysterious writhing bodies lurched and gyrated in the shadows.
The whole monster mashup was the product of the terrifying combination of The Zombie and Morticia Addams, whose supernatural skills are legendary.
We were all afraid ... very afraid.

Barn Dance, 30 June 2017

What a fantastic night it was at the barn dance. The music was lively, the dancers were enthusiastic and the food was delicious. Massive thanks to the village hall committee and all the helpers who made it such a successful event. Here are some more photos to give you a flavour of the general hilarity. Thanks to Kim Elliott and Carol Newman for the photos.
The place to be!
What a great weekend we've just had in Piddington - a stonkingly good ukulele night on Friday with the Haddenham (plus one Piddington) Ukulele Musos (see photos below), and a fantastic Pantry Christmas market on Saturday.
The hall was bursting at the seams on both occasions with people having a brilliant time, and several people not from Piddington commented on what a very special atmosphere we had in our village, and what a lovely community it must be to live in.
Well, yes, it is, but it doesn't just happen by accident. Every event that's put on for us is the product of a lot of thought and hard work from people who give their time and skills voluntarily because they want to live in a community like this.
I'd like to use this public forum to thank everyone who helps to organise the variety of events and activities that happen in Piddington - one-off concerts, occasional treats and regular clubs and classes. Long may we continue to be an active, thriving community!
And to anyone who hasn't yet joined in any of the village activities, either as a helper or a participant - what are you waiting for?!
