Piddington Village Hall

Facilities

Piddington has a Village Hall which is the envy of nearby communities. Serving a population of approx. 370 adults and 60 children (2011 census), the hall acts as the focal point of the village. Over the last few years major work has been done to upgrade the hall and its facilities, and ensure it is a modern and well-equipped community hub.

The hall has the following facilities and features:
  • Off-road parking for up to 18 vehicles in the grounds. The car park, hall and grounds are covered by CCTV.
  • A maximum capacity, stipulated by the fire authorities, of 120 people.
  • A wooden parquet floor making it ideal for dancing and keep-fit classes.
  • Lighting by the latest dimmable LED lights.
  • Heating and cooling via air source heat pumps, which provide a comfortable temperature on the coldest winter and the hottest summer days.
  • A modern (2018) and well-equipped kitchen with 2 sinks, a hob and oven, microwave cooker, fridge/freezer, filter coffee machines, kettles, etc. Crockery, glasses and cutlery are provided, as are tea towels.
  • Stackable chairs and tables are stored in an easily accessible annex joined to the hall.
  • Superfast broadband / Wi-Fi is provided free of charge to all hall users.
  • Newly refurbished (2020) modern toilets and an accessible toilet, which also contains baby-changing facilities.
  • The hall is licensed for the sale of alcohol by the trustees who, if required, can provide a bar service to users at reasonable prices.
  • A new (2020) children’s play area with a slide, swings, a roundabout and safe adventure equipment, making the hall the ideal venue for children’s parties.
The following are available to hirers of the hall on request: Some items may incur a modest extra charge.
  • Access to an audio system with 6 speakers providing crisp and clear sound, from CD’s or streamed from the internet. A microphone can also be provided.
  • A 60” LED screen with HDMI inputs on a wheelable stand. Ideal for presentations.
  • A potato oven with capacity to cook 120 baked potatoes.
  • A commercial marquee (5M x 10M).

Accessibilty: There is level, step-free access to the hall, wide entrance doors and an accessible toilet.

Gigaclear supply broadband and WiFi free of charge to Piddington Village Hall, which allows us to offer these facilities free to all users
of the hall.

This generous gesture is much appreciated, particularly as the
hall is a designated Community Hub for Oxfordshire in the event
of an emergency.
