During December and January the village hall will undergo some major improvements.

  1. Work is almost complete on the new play area and should be completed before Christmas.
  2. Four air-sourced heat pump have be fitted inside the hall. They are controlled by a wall mounted unit fitted between the kitchen servery and the lobby doors. They seem to be working well.
  3. A sound system with 6 speakers covering the whole hall has be fitted, and commissioned.
  4. The fitting of the new front doors has been delayed and should now be fitted in early January.
  5. Starting on 3rd January 2020, the village hall interior will be completely repainted. This will be paid for out of village hall funds.
  6. CCTV will be installed around the village hall in stages. The first stage will cover the children’s play area, with other equipment to be added in 2020. This will be paid for out of village hall funds.
  7. Drawings have been prepared for the refurbishment of the toilets. Quotations are currently being sought to enable a supplier to be selected and grants towards funding obtained. It is hoped that the work will be done next Summer.

New storage area - completed May 2019

The new storeroom was completed during May. It is now being used to house tables, chairs, indoor bowls equipment, the table tennis table etc.
We were fortunate to obtain funding towards the cost from Cherwell D C  and the Viridor Credits Environmental Company.

New kitchen Completed October '18

The Village Hall Management Team are please to report that work on the refurbishment of the kitchen and bar has been completed. This was achieved with the support of a grant for £10,000 from the WREN Landfill Communities Fund. The Committee thank WREN for all their help and advice. A donation of £3000 was also made by The Pantry.

Friends of the Village Hall

The PVHMC have started to draw up a contact list of people whom we can contact when we need a little extra help, for example when putting on an event. The idea is that we contact the ‘Friends’ to explain what help is needed, ask who is available and when, then allot specific tasks based on the replies – rather in the way The Pantry volunteer list works at the moment. You need only offer as much time as you can spare – every little helps!
If you are happy to be on the ‘Friends of the Village Hall’ List, please email piddingtonvillagehall@gmail.com.

Easyfundraising - an easy way to raise funds for Piddington Village Hall

What is it?

The PVHMC are always trying to think of ways to raise funds not only to maintain the village hall but also to pay for the forthcoming refurbishment and planned additional facilities, such as a new kitchen, more storage space, a more energy-efficient and sustainable heating and lighting system, etc. We will of course continue to put on events that offer something of interest while at the same time generating some much needed income, but it’s difficult to keep asking members of our small community to part with their hard-earned cash.

We think we’ve found a solution. Wouldn’t it be great if you could donate some money to your village hall every time you shop online with well-known companies such as John Lewis, Amazon, Argos, ebay, etc? Or search the web? At no extra cost to yourself and with only one extra click?

‘easyfundraising’ is a free and simple way for UK schools, charities, sports clubs, community groups and other good causes to raise money from everyday online shopping. Supporters register to help a good cause and whenever they shop through the site with any of the 2,700 retailers listed on easyfundraising.org.uk, the retailer gives a small percentage of what’s been spent back to the good cause to say thank you for shopping with them.

We have registered Piddington Village Hall on easyfundraising as ‘PIDDINGTON OXON VILLAGE HALL’, and we are asking you to support us by going through the easyfundraising website every time you shop.
