Community-Led Plan
Background
Here is some information about Community-Led Plans from the South East Rural Community Council - of which Oxford Rural Community Council (ORCC) forms part.
Community-Led Plans are produced by and for communities, based on a detailed consultation, involving the whole community which prompts action and influences others.
Good community plans use the Community Led Planning Toolkit framework, are supported by external facilitators, and can demonstrate a robust evaluation process. CLPs underpin a community’s vision for itself across all aspects of social, environmental and economic life. They celebrate positive features and activities, highlight community needs and contain a detailed Action Plan to help the community meet those needs.
Piddington's Community-Led Plan was launched at a social event in the village hall on 20 March 2015.
Over 60 villagers and children attended, and the group consisted of a real cross section - from a couple who had literally moved in that day to a number of residents who have lived in the village for more than 40 years.
As a result of this meeting, a steering group was set up which will work with the village, Piddington Parish Council and ORCC to analyse all the suggestions that arose from the launch event, compile a village questionnaire, hold other events and put a framework together for a plan that can be signed off by Cherwell District Council.
